When I started in photography, I was only about 15 years old, with an analogue zoom compact camera. Very soon after, I longed for more. Almost everytime when my parents went to do some shopping, I sneaked to the attic to get the big camera from my father and put in a roll of film. When the roll of film was full of captures, I took it out of the camera again. Neatly, I put the camera back in the box.
Of course my father eventually suspected I was using his professional camera gear in secret, an analogue Canon Ftb with a great set of professional lenses. He decided it was TIME. He showed me all his gear and how it worked. I took classes from the Professional Photography school (Fotovakschool) in 2003 in Boxtel/Eindhoven, the Netherlands. I also became member of the DOKA group at Tilburg University with Dark Room facilities up till 2004. After that I attended field sessions with established nature photographers. Eventually I switched to digital photography in 2005.
My photography experience got on a fast track. And even now in 2020, I still read a lot about photography. AND first and foremost, next september I will attend a mentorship in photography during 4 months. Keep learning! Get inspired! ALWAYS!
The accompanying photograph of a curious puffin was taken at Skomer Island, Wales, UK in June 2019. The light was so magical and the colors so bright, that I still enjoy all those images and experiences! After more than 20 years of loving photography, I AM STILL ADDICTED!
The puffin in golden evening light is now available in my Fine-art print collection! Get yours!!! There is an interesting offer for a package-deal till August 31st, 2020! YES! If you are curious, please go to the link https://www.orbica.nl/fine-art-shop/fine-art-print-collection/
